INTENSITY OF RIVALRY AMONG UK IT BUSINESSES BASED ON PORTERS FORCES

The intensity of the rivalry among IT businesses in the UK is very high.
Nowadays there are many computer software manufacturers in the global market. As each manufacturer tries to differentiate its product by creating new programmes that make a computer more powerful and useful.
The Industry provides day to day solutions for people and so companies branch out in different areas of computer development. Whilst others specialize in specific software development. High investment and budget for research and development and high technology of the production can be seen as factors that prevent new competitors to enter into the computer industry.
Businesses acquire a wide range of components, supplies, services and raw materials from a substantial number of suppliers and provide mainly solutions, this creates a really intense industry in the economy.  These IT firms and businesses operate in markets where organizations always tend to buy large amounts per time to make products and provide services.
The customers have the power to negotiate with the company. This may cost customers to switch suppliers. Software is the main component of the computer which is used to enable a computer to perform specific tasks and thus there is no product to replace or substitute a computer software.
The UK market is influenced globally by major companies like Microsoft, IBM, Apple Inc. and Samsung. As Microsoft dominates its software industry and tries to tie its customers Apple Inc. and Samsung are making progress as the brands for choice among users.
